Gift of the Heart

Part of Church World Service, Gift of the Heart sends kits of various kinds to help with disaster relief. They are small packages of supplies assembled by volunteers from congregations and groups, as well as individuals and families. The contents of each kit are simple, small things - new pencils, a washcloth, a toothbrush, cleaning supplies etc. They also put together newborn kids for families expecting a baby or those with a newborn. Having them or not can make a big difference in an ongoing development program or when disaster strikes.  These kits end up in places such as Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean or anywhere in the USA.
Cheryn Kwasnik is St. Thomas' Gift of the Heart coordinator.
This is our Lenten Mission project.  The sign-up sheets are now posted on the door to the garden. Please follow the lists exactly as the kits need to be consistent.
When you have decided which item/s you have decided to contribute, please sign your name on the line under the item/s and state how many you are bringing in (e.g. toothbrushes, Jane Smith, 20)
The men are asked to do the Emergency Cleanup Buckets as their challenge but if any of the ladies or youth would like to buy these items, please feel free to do so.
